Restore and Preserve EPDM, TPO, PVC, and Other Membranes
EPDM (ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIENE MONOMER)
1. Surface Prep
- Carefully power wash to remove dirt, debris, and contaminants that could impede adhesion
- Roof system must be clean and dry with surface temperature below 120°F at time of application
- Correct ponding in low-lying areas prior to coating
- All underlying materials must be fully cured
2. Repair & Seal
- Repair tears and seams with like materials. Use a detail sealant like Elastek® #103 Crack & Joint, or ERSystems® HER Urethane Sealant, fabric reinforce where needed for seams and roof top penetrations
3. Finish Coat
- Apply 2-3 coats of appropriate Elastek® finish coat
- Apply with 3/4″ or 1-1/4″ nap roller or airless spray
- Smooth Surfaces: Approximately 475 square feet per 5 gallon size pail per coat (approximately 100 square feet per gallon per coat). Apply two coats
- Rough Surfaces: Approximately 100 square feet per 1.5 gallons per coat depending on porosity and roughness of surface. Apply two coats
TPO (THERMOPLASTIC OLEFIN)
1. Surface Prep
- Carefully power wash to remove dirt, debris, and contaminants that could impede adhesion
- Roof system must be clean and dry with surface temperature below 120°F at time of application
- Correct ponding in low-lying areas prior to coating
- All underlying materials must be fully cured
2. Repair & Seal
- Repair tears and seams with like materials. Use a detail sealant like Elastek® #103 Crack & Joint, or ERSystems® HER Urethane Sealant, fabric reinforce where needed for seams and roof top penetrations
3. Finish Coat
- Apply 2-3 coats of appropriate Elastek® finish coat
- Apply with 1/2″ or 1-1/4″ nap roller or airless spray
- Minimum two coats (20 Mils DFT total) for service life warranty
- Smooth Surfaces: Approximately 475 square feet per 5 gallon size pail per coat (approximately 100 square feet per gallon per coat). Apply two coats
- Rough Surfaces: Approximately 100 square feet per 1.5 gallons per coat depending on porosity and roughness of surface. Apply two coats
PVC (POLYVINYL CHLORIDE)
1. Surface Prep
- Wash with TSP substitute and water; rinse
- Power wash with clean water
- Roof system must be clean and dry with surface temperature below 120°F at time of application
- All underlying materials must be fully cured
2. Repair & Seal
- Repair tears and seams with like materials. Use a detail sealant like Elastek® #103 Crack & Joint, or ERSystems® HER urethane sealant, fabric reinforce where needed for seams and roof top penetrations.
3. Finish Coat
- Apply 2-3 coats of appropriate Elastek® finish coat
- Apply with 3/4″ or 1-1/4″ nap roller or airless spray
